When you think of a photo session with your family, you probably immediately envision the one hour session and receiving your photos a few weeks later. But what comes before and after those things are really just as important. So what is my full session experience from start to finish?

Let's start with the why. One of the things I pride myself on is my client experience. I want you to feel taken care of from the very first email. I never want you to be wondering when you'll hear from me, what's next in the process, or what you need to do. My hope is that by the time we get to your session you feel like you know me and that you can trust me to capture your family with the right vibe, games, poses and emotion.

Let's Start at the Very Beginning

Your session experience starts long before the actual session. It begins when you reach out to me from my contact page, or in my DMs. You can be sure that you will hear back from me within 24-48 hours. I'll answer any questions you have, let you know what my availability is, and send you detailed information on my shooting style, session FAQs, location advice, and how to book.

I Booked My Session! Now What?

Cue the confetti! We're going to have so much fun together! Now is the time when we get into the detailed planning of making your session unique to your family. I want to get to know you and the people you love most because this helps me know how to plan and execute your session. Do you have shy kiddos? I'll come in quiet and let them sit with you until they start to feel comfortable playing my games. Have a wild bunch? I promise to bring the energy!

The first thing I'll send you a detailed Questionnaire and it is so important that you fill it out. The more I know about y'all the better!

I'll also send you a Prep Guide that is jam packed with information. You'll read about what to expect at your session, how to pick the best outfits, when to arrive, what we'll be doing, and even some session no-nos! I highly suggest you sit down with your partner and read through it together so you both know what to expect. In this guide I give you my personal number so you can reach out to me with any questions you have (and yes, I really do want you to actually text if you have questions or want advice on outfit selection!).

It's Session Day!

By now we've emailed, texted maybe even talked on the phone. You've read all the guides and FAQs, you've seen my work on my website or IG, and you've seen me and interacted with me on the 'gram. When we meet IRL at your session, my hope is that you feel like you already know me.

I'll some prepared for all the personalities you told me about in your questionnaire and have games, prompts and poses planned that fit your crew. Come ready to actually have fun at your session!

When Do I Get My Photos?

This is the most important question right?! The short answer is it takes me 2-3 weeks to edit and curate your gallery. But you're not waiting in the dark that whole time. I send sneak peeks within the first week after your session! Also while you're waiting I'll send you a video that walks you through how to view your gallery, download your photos and purchase products. My full sessions all come with $100 print credit because I want you to get your photos off of your computer and into your hands!!

After 2-3 weeks you'll get an email delivering your gallery. Make sure you turn off the stove before you start looking (and crying) over the images. I am not responsible if you burn dinner!

That's All Folks!

Just kidding! After receive your gallery, you'll have once month to use your print credit. Don't worry, I won't ghost you. If you always want to get around to ordering prints or albums but just don't have the time to sit down and do it, I've got you! Let me know you'd like an album, favorite your photos and I'll take care of the rest. I love helping with products!

The last step that helps me SO much is a review. I send a review form about a month after your session. When you fill it out, it not only helps my business grow by making the Google Gods happy, it helps me know what parts of the process were valuable to you and what I can improve on.

I know I keep saying that's last thing, but in truth, there hopefully is no last step! I'm hoping that this is the beginning of a friendship! I want to follow your family and watch them grow, I want to keep up on social media, and I hope that just like people talk about finding a forever home, that I can be your forever photographer.
